Acupuncture Sessions

What to Expect

Zusanli Acupuncture is located in a serene office in the Button Building in downtown Easthampton.

Initial acupuncture sessions are 60-75 minutes, and follow up sessions are generally 60 minutes. The first session begins with an in-depth intake to get a sense of your health concerns, history, concerns, and the ins- and-outs of your body. In subsequent sessions we will check in about highlights and changes since the last treatment. Each session includes about 30 minutes of quiet rest with needles in place. This time allows the qi (energy) to be redirected. I ensure that each patient is comfortable, using wrist rests, pillows, bolsters, and heat when desired.

Traditional chinese medicine diagnostics, as well as manual diagnostics, inform the treatment. What happens during each acupuncture session will vary depending on your needs and circumstances. I incorporate various techniques, such as Chi Nei Tsang, cupping, gua sha, tui na, therapeutic bodywork, auricular acupuncture, infared heat, facial rejuvenation, microneedling, facial acupuncture, and ear seeds. I may recommend herbs or nutrition and lifestyle changes. All sessions are private and one-on-one.

Scheduling Appointments

Acupuncture sessions are by appointment only. I treat patients Monday through Friday. Initial sessions are scheduled directly by calling 413-341-7151 and subsequent sessions can be scheduled in person, via email or phone.

***Please note that although I no longer offer Chi Nei Tsang sessions, it remains integrated into my acupuncture sessions. For full Chi Nei Tsang sessions, you can find practitioners at: www.universaltaoboston.com or www.chineitsang.com.

Before Treatment

Before receiving treatment, I recommend that you eat something light. Wear loose, comfortable clothing for treatments or come as you are. If clothing is inhibiting access to a specific point, I have drapes and sarongs available for your use. Please refrain from wearing perfumes and fragrances as many of my patients have allergies or chemical sensitivities.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel a session, 24 hours notice must be given or you will be charged for the missed session. Emergencies, snowstorms, and severe illness are always taken into consideration.

Parking and Arrival

My office is located in the Button Building at 123 Union Street, Suite 101. It is handicapped accessible when you enter through the front door. There are some parking spots in the front of the building. If they are full, there is a large parking in the back of the building. The back door of the building opens into suite 101. Please enter the suite and have a seat in the waiting area and I will meet you there.
