Chinese Medicine

Chinese medicine is based on the concepts of balance, harmony, and energy (qi). When we are balanced and our qi is flowing freely, we feel healthy and well. When we are imbalanced and our qi is stagnant or undernourished, we will feel less than optimal. For example, headaches, fatigue, insomnia, and pain are all signs of imbalances. Acupuncture prompts your body’s intelligence to restore balance and wellness.

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into specific points along channels just under the skin. This restores the flow of qi throughout the body. Acupuncture releases blockages, improves circulation, decreases pain, reduces inflammation, and balance the body’s chemistry to promote healing.

Acupuncture needles are very fine, sterile, disposable, and FDA approved. They bear no resemblance to the needles used when receiving an injection. Most patients find acupuncture treatments relaxing and profoundly healing.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal formulas heal root imbalances and resolve symptoms. These formulas exist in a variety of forms: tea pills, powders, tinctures, and raw herbs to boil into a tea. I tailor it based on your condition, lifestyle, and personal preference. The herb companies that supply my herbs have stringent controls concerning pesticides and heavy metal processing methods.

Chi Nei Tsang

Chi Nei Tsang is combined with Acupuncture treatments to support and improve results. Chi Nei Tsang translates as “internal organs chi transformation” and it is a comprehensive approach which blends visceral massage, Chi Kung practice, breath awareness, and guided meditation. Chinese Taoist monks living in mountain monasteries developed the art of Chi Nei Tsang to enjoy full, healthy, and extended lives.

Chi Nei Tsang focuses on the abdomen with deep, soft and gentle touches, to train internal organs to work more efficiently. Working a series of points around the navel unwinds tensions and releases the flow of chi back to the organs and the rest of the body. Unprocessed emotional charges are also addressed in this manner, as well as all the body systems: digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, muscular-skeletal, and the acupuncture meridian system.

Today Chi Nei Tsang is mainly used for 4 different reasons:

Detoxification: Chi Nei Tsang sessions help relieve the body of excess stagnation, improving elimination and stimulating the lymphatic and circulatory systems. Chi Nei Tsang also strengthens the immune system and boosts resistance to diseases. Clients receiving Chi Nei Tsang sessions before and after surgery may experience easier recoveries.

Structural Realignment: As it addresses the visceral structures and positioning of internal organs, Chi Nei Tsang stimulates them to work more efficiently and also helps correct postural problems resulting from visceral imbalances. It releases deep-seated tensions, strengthens the body, and restores vitality. Chi Nei Tsang is helpful with chronic pain such as back, neck, and shoulder pain as well as problems related to misalignment of the feet, legs, and pelvis.

Emotional Digestion: Our unprocessed emotional charges are stored in our digestive system waiting to be addressed. Poor emotional digestion is a major cause of ill health. Chi Nei Tsang facilitates the unfolding of emotions and the clarification of our emotional life. This makes it possible for us to evolve and grow in the direction of our highest self.

Self Cultivation: Chi Nei Tsang teaches clients to know themselves and reconnects them to their inner wisdom for healing. Clients are taught fundamental self-help practices such as breathing techniques, meditation, and visualization so that they can be responsible for their own health. This leads to a more confident, grounded, and centered way of life.

Chi Nei Tsang can be of particular benefit to some of the more intractable contemporary problems, such as sleep disorders, digestive disorders involving the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas, challenges to fertility, nervous disorders such as anxiety and depression, musculoskeletal problems of undetermined origin, and auto-immune disorders such as Lupus and chronic fatigue. Additionally, Chi Nei Tsang can help to speed healing from injury or trauma, including obstetrical and surgical trauma.

“There is no intelligence required for healing. To heal, we don’t need to be intelligent, we don’t need to be good, and we don’t need to deserve it. Healing is pure grace. To heal, we do need honesty. We need to be true to ourselves. We need to be able to admit that we have feelings we wish we didn’t have. We need to own these feelings so we can outgrow them and so we can mature as human beings.”Gilles Marin excerpt from Healing from Within with Chi Nei Tsang

“Skillful, Restorative, Understanding…this is Sharon. I have been a client of Sharon’s for over 5 years and have recommended her to friends & family. Initially I went for help with stress-related headaches, and after a few visits the headaches became a rarity and I felt better overall. She has a wonderful approach and attitude towards her work, and others, and this is conveyed during every visit. I have used other practitioners in the past, yet no one has been as consistent, and dedicated to understanding the ways of the body as Sharon. One feels immediately comfortable and relaxed in her company, making any treatment more beneficial.” – T.S., Network Engineer
